Hey guys,

How are you all doing? Good I hope.

Lately, the theme “Walking on Water” has been on my mind, like a new dimension of a relationship with the Father.

About a day ago, God led me to Matthew 14. “Jesus walks on water,” “Peter walks on water.” However you want to tag that chapter, it explains a different aspect of walking with God;

On water.

Not firm ground. Not solid road. Basically nothing in the norms.

Walking with God into places you are not familiar with. Into the unknown.

I want to share with you outlines of what Jesus did before walking on water.

  1. He secluded himself.

“Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd.” Matthew 14:22

2.  He prayed

“After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray.” Matthew 14: 23

3. He reached out (Stepped out in faith)

“During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them,” Matthew 14:25

He didnt’t stand and wait for God to miraculously place his legs on the water. He went out to the water himself.

4. He did it. Matthew 14:25

In the next two verses, the story goes to Peter, ever-adventurous.

In his doubt amd fear, he challenged Jesus, “Lord if it’s you, tell me to come to you on the water.” Matthew 14: 28

A lot of times in our lives, we let fear and doubt of the unknown dictate our actions. We allow it to shut us up.

You have been called to ask for the impossible. Don’t stay within the limits of the norm.

Jesus’ response to Peter was just one word, “Come”

We have to be careful not to miss God’s invitation to us.

On that note, a verse from Jeremiah: “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

God wants to be found. He wants to fulfill His plans in our lives. He wants to walk into the unknown with us. He wants us lost in His eyes so we disregard the waves of distractions in our lives. He wants to call us to Him on to the water.

We have to stay attentive in His presence so we do not miss His call.

As you go on to the water, go eyes fixed on Jesus. Don’t let the winds take you by surprise.

I pray God ministers to you personally through this entry. In Jesus name. Amen.

Have a lovely day,
