Hi beautiful people,

I hope everyone has had a great weekend and is ready for Mondayyyy yay! (lol don’t roll your eyes. Speak life over your new week!).

I want to quickly share a verse that has been coming to mind recently.

“For the pagans run after all these things, but your Heavenly Father knows that you need them” Matthew 6 32

Since about last week, I’ve been asking God for provision in a particular area of my life. And if i’m being perfectly honest, it’s something not that relevant, but it doesn’t change the fact that I want it lol.

Now each time I ask God for it, the Holy Spirit brings the verse above to mind.

The first few words stand out to me, “for the pagans. . .” In other words, non – christians. Those who have put their trusts in chariots and horses, in their own strength and resources. Those who don’t acknowledge that the Lord is God, and will be exalted in all the earth.

But we are christians. We are children of God, and we have seen God move first hand in our lives.

I see this picture of a dad and his kid. They’re both walking down a store aisle, and they see this other kid frantically searching the shelves for something; he is trying his best to explain to the store workers what it is he is looking for. He even shows them a picture of it, but they still have no idea. The kid goes off with his picture and in his own strength to keep on his frantic search. The dad looks at his own kid then and sees a strange look on his face. A look that says, “What if that happens to me. I mean I still haven’t found the toy we’ve been walking around for hours looking for.”

The dad squats to the kid’s eye level and says, “hey it’s okay. That’s not you. You are MY CHILD, your life belongs to me. Only kids like that, kids that don’t accept me as their dad worry as you’re about to worry. Trust me, I know exactly what you need, and I will give it you.”

My imagination might have been a bit of a stretch here, but it really drives down the whole point of Matt 6 32 for me.

What is it you’re asking God for? What are you so afraid is going to go wrong in your life? What is giving you sleepless nights? What is making you walk through life frantically in your own strength?

Drop it.

That worry is not for kids like us. It is not for children of God because our heavenly Father knows exactly what we need and He will surely give it to us.

See what He said,

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.” Matthew 6 33

This new week, ask for grace to place your worries into God’s hands. Move your priority back to seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Go back to enjoying the presence of your Father and trust that He is working behind the scenes for your good.

Have a good night! xD

Dami.

  1. Hello Dami, thanks for this encouragement. We should always be as children, drop all worries and trust the Lord that He will always have our back. He loves us more than we love ourselves. Regards,
